VDOT: Road conditions improving in the Shenandoah Valley
By late Sunday afternoon, VDOT reported that there had been a disabled vehicle on Interstate 81 northbound in Shenandoah County at mile marker 286 – otherwise, road are improving. The location of the disabled vehicle was between exit 283 in Woodstock and exit 291 at Toms Brook. All lanes are open but the situation caused a four mile back-up, according to VDOT.
Road conditions are improving in the Shenandoah Valley following Sunday's snow and ice storm. Here are the conditions as of 4 p.m.

Interstate 64 - Minor conditions in Alleghany County. Clear conditions in Augusta and Rockbridge counties.

Interstate 66 - Minor conditions in Warren County.

Interstate 81 - Minor conditions in Frederick County. Clear conditions in Shenandoah, Rockingham, Augusta and Rockbridge counties.
Primary are in moderate condition in Augusta, Highland and Clarke counties. Minor conditions are in Alleghany, Bath, Rockingham, Page, Warren, Frederick and Shenandoah counties. Clear conditions are in Rockbridge County.
Secondary roads are in moderate condition in Alleghany, Bath, Highland, Rockingham, Clarke, Page, Warren, Frederick and Shenandoah counties. Minor conditions are in Rockbridge and Augusta counties.
