Skyline Ranch Resort offers open house with a twist
by Karina Gianola
With free camping, activities, drawings and prizes, Skyline Ranch Resort's open house may just be the answer to where to take the family on the last day of summer.
This Saturday, beginning at 11 a.m., the festivities will kick off the End of Summer Open House at Skyline Ranch. The resort, at 751 Mountain Rd., offers timeshares, RV camping, and amenities like a pool, mini golf course, fishing and a baseball diamond.
It is the third such event they have held, said sales and marketing employee Lili Bowers, with one a few months ago and one last year at this time.
"But this one is going to be huge," she said. One new addition, said Sales Director Jeff Jenkins, is that the event will double as an RV sale. Reines RV Center, from Manassas, will be on site with special deals on motor homes and travel trailers.
At 1 p.m., Q102's Chuck Carrol will broadcast live from the resort. Throughout the day, there will be gas voucher and vacation giveaways, as well as a bronze timeshare ownership at the resort.
Jenkins said he sees the event as a win-win. The event attracts a lot of potential members for him, while also providing a day of family activities.
For two days during the open house weekend, families can stay in a camping spot in their own RV at the resort for free. Jenkins recommended that they register early, since space is limited.
Tours of the grounds will feature a hayride, and activities like miniature golf, face painting, three legged races, food and music will help keep children entertained.
"We'd love to have 100 families," Jenkins said of the expected turnout. "But if we get 35 or 40 we'll be happy. People don't know what we do or what we promote out here. This is designed to be a family-friendly way for people to learn about us."
